• NEVER mix legal representation and contract negotiation.  A huge potential conflict of interest exists if legal representation and contract negotiation services are provided by the same person.  The player puts himself at significant risk if these two functions are not separated.
• NEVER mix the financial advisor function with the contract negotiation function.  An inherent conflict of interest exists between the financial advisor function and the contract advisor function.  The player puts himself at significant financial risk if these two functions are not separated.
• The player should NEVER sign ANYTHING presented by the club without talking to his contract advisor first.  In fact, the player should indicate to the club in advance that all documentation should be sent to the contract advisor FIRST.
• The player should NEVER procure services from a contract advisor that is not certified by the National Football League Players' Association.  This is prohibited by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and will render any negotiated contract null and void.
